Het heeft functies zoals een hoog vrij volume, lage druk daling, lage massa-overdracht eenheid hoogte, hoge overstromingspunt, uniforme gas-vloeistof contact, kleine specifieke zwaartekracht, hoge massa overdracht efficiëntie en ga zo maar door, en de toepassing temperatuur in de media varieert van 60tot 150. Voor deze redenen waarom het op grote schaal wordt gebruikt in de verpakkingstorens in de aardolie-industrie, chemische industrie, alkalichloride-industrie, kolengasindustrie en milieubescherming, enz.
